Winter 2017 Adult Enrichment Course
The Formation of the Gospels in Relationship to Historical Jesus
An Adult Lenten Spirituality Course

Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm
February 21, March 7, March 28 & April 11, 2017

Join Mr. Mike Longo in this adult Lenten spirituality course that will explore the construction of the Gospels in relationship to the historical Jesus. How do we explain the words of Jesus passed down from Jesus to the Gospel writers? Participants will study how the Gospel writers came out of the early Christian communities and how they adapted the historical Jesus for the audiences they were addressing. In particular, the letters of St. Paul and the Gospel of Mark will be addressed as formative documents for the rest of the Gospels. This course will assist the adult Christian in their personal journey through the Lenten season to better understand the Gospels as they apply them to their own faith life.

The course will be taught by Resurrection faculty member Mike Longo, Religious Studies teacher and Chamber Orchestra director, who holds a Master's degree in Music and Humanities from DePaul University and a Master's degree in Religious Studies from Loyola University.

The cost is $50 - to register for the course, please contact Alisa Martorano
