Taking the entrance exam at Resurrection is the first step in the application process.  Resurrection’s Entrance Exam will be administered on Saturday, January 14, 2017.


Eighth graders should arrive by 7:45 am.  Test takers should bring two #2 pencils and $25 for the exam fee (cash or check made payable to Resurrection College Prep).


The exam will begin at 8:00 am and end at approximately noon.  Calculators and language translators are not permitted during the exam.  Limited accommodations may be available.  Testing accommodations should be requested by mid-December and documentation must be received by Tuesday, January 10, 2017.  Please send information and your request to Registrar Mary Kaye Ulczak at mulczak@reshs.org or fax to 773.775.0611.  


There is no pre-registration for the entrance exam.

Parents are invited to attend an optional information session at 8:00 am in the library.  On the day of the exam, testers will receive a packet of information that includes materials necessary for application to Resurrection College Prep.


Exam Information


Students will take the High School Placement Test (HSPT), which is created and scored by Scholastic Testing Service.   There are three areas to the exam:  

 1. Cognitive, which has 2 parts: VERBAL (analogies, synonyms, antonyms, logic) and QUANTATIVE (reasoning, comparison and sequences).

 2. Basic, which has 3 parts: READING (comprehension, vocabulary), LANGUAGE (punctuation, spelling, capitalization) and MATH.

 3. SCIENCE: an optional portion that Resurrection does include in the testing.
