Congratulations to Resurrection alumnae who were inducted into the Resurrection Wall of Honor on Saturday, April 21, 2012. Resurrection alumnae were honored as recipients of the Blessed Celine Award and were inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame.
The Blessed Celine Award recognizes Resurrection alumnae who exemplify the life values of Blessed Celine, the foundress of the Sisters of the Resurrection. The recipients are accomplished in their fields of endeavor and, like Blessed Celine, work toward the advancement of women in society and act as positive Christian role models for young women. The award recipients for 2012 were Annette Kukla Goode ’64, former Resurrection teacher, counselor and guidance department chair; Dr. Carrie Hall Jaworski ’88, sports medicine physician, volunteer, and Resurrection Board member; and Sandy Jarosz Kozlowski ’97, accomplished musician and resilient patient of CIPD, an auto-immune disease.
The Athletic Hall of Fame Award recognizes individuals from the Resurrection athletic community who have participated in sports or contributed to the Resurrection College Prep Athletic Program. Athletes inducted into the Hall of Fame have demonstrated outstanding athletic accomplishments, leadership or contributions to the Resurrection Athletic Program. The 2012 inductees were Carol Moran Gresens ’67, basketball and volleyball student-athlete; Diane Bryniarski ’75, basketball and softball student-athlete and former Resurrection teacher and coach; Lisa Gilfoy ’86, softball, volleyball and basketball student-athlete and former Resurrection coach; Angie Jablonski ’88, track and field and cross-country student-athlete and athletic trainer; and Sheryl Kurowski ’90, student-gymnast.
Awards were presented as part of the Resurrection All-School Reunion Weekend on April 21 and 22, 2012. In addition to the Wall of Honor inductions the weekend also included the Run for Res 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday morning, an All-School Reunion Mass on Saturday afternoon and an All-School Reunion dinner on Saturday evening. The weekend also included an interactive sing-a-long Wizard of Oz Family Movie Day on Sunday, April 22, 2012 for families and community members.
The All-School Reunion Weekend was held as part of a year-long celebration of Resurrection’s 90th year of educating women. Since its founding in 1922, Resurrection has graduated over 13,000 alumnae who have gone on to be leaders in their careers, families and communities. |
