Res: The Single Gender Choice

At Resurrection, young women are guaranteed center stage because our staff understands how girls learn best. In a single-gender environment, young women have opportunities to shine in every arena.

In comparison to co-educated young women, research shows that female graduates of single-gender high schools demonstrate higher levels of:

  • Engagement in academics
  • Engagement in civic issues
  • Confidence in public speaking
  • Confidence in mathematical ability
  • Confidence in the use of technology
  • Interest in engineering careers
  • Interest in extracurricular activities
  • Expression in the visual and performing arts

Research also shows that graduates of single-gender schools spent more time on homework and surpassed their co-ed peers in reading, writing and science. They also pursued careers in math, science, and technology four times more often than female graduates from co-ed schools.
