LIBRARY RESOURCES
The mission of the Resurrection High School library is to support the school’s curriculum and to encourage lifelong learning among the Res community.
Library staff is available to assist students with assignments and research projects. We are also happy to help students select interesting reading for their own personal enjoyment.
We have:
- over 10,000 volumes in our print collection, including fiction and nonfiction books;
- 30 computers for student use on a drop-in basis;
- a computer lab attached to the library for use by classes;
- subscriptions to more than 35 print magazines and 2 daily newspapers;
- 10 online databases with access from both home and school;
- a copier for student use.
We actively partner with area public libraries to ensure that our students have access to the materials they need. Through our membership in the OCLC Resource Sharing program, we can request copies of articles from libraries all over the country.

Procedures
|
Teachers frequently bring their classes to the library to work on research assignments. Students can also use the library before and after school and during their Seminar and study periods.
There is limited seating during Seminar periods in order to maintain an atmosphere of quiet and academic focus.
Students must have their Res ID to use a computer and the ID must be displayed the entire time they are online.
Students must also have their Res ID to check out a book. Normal check-out period is 2 weeks and renewals are possible. Reference books may be checked out overnight.

| Behavior Expectations |
The library is a place of study. Students are welcome to come to study and complete assignments, to read, or to use the computers for academic work.
Students are expected to speak in quiet tones so as to not disturb others. They will be asked to leave if they are disrupting other students’ ability to do their work. If a student repeatedly misbehaves, she may be restricted from using the library for a period of time.
No food or drink is allowed in the library.
No cell phones or iPods are allowed at any time, including before and after school.
