Bandits Take Time Out to Inspire Future Stars at Summer Camps

This summer, current Resurrection College Prep students and alumnae took a break from their own training to give back to the community by helping with various summer camps. These dedicated Bandits worked with kids in grades 3-8, helping them improve their skills in sports such as basketball, soccer, tennis, and softball, as well as in creative fields like theater and art.

At the basketball camp, more than 300 girls in grades 3-8 received intensive training over three weeks. The focus was on developing footwork, passing, ball handling, defense, and shooting. By the end of the program, the young athletes showed significant improvement and newfound confidence on the court.

The soccer camp targeted girls in grades 5-8, emphasizing ball control, dribbling, and passing skills. With the guidance of the Bandits players, the campers made great strides in both offensive and defensive techniques, leaving them well-prepared for future competitions.

In tennis camp, girls in grades 5-8 worked on perfecting their forehands, backhands, volleys, and serves. Beginners concentrated on mastering the basics, while more experienced players refined their techniques under the watchful eyes of their mentors. By the end of the camp, all participants displayed remarkable progress.

The softball skills camp was another highlight, where girls in grades 5-8, along with current Bandits players, focused on fielding, base running, and hitting mechanics. Coach A and the coaching staff were thrilled with the campers' progress and the camaraderie that developed among the participants.

Beyond sports, the art camp offered a creative outlet for kids, exploring primary and secondary color schemes through name paintings and working with clay to create unique stamps. The campers had a blast, and the Bandit volunteers enjoyed fostering a love for art in the young participants.

The involvement of the alumnae and current students played a crucial role in taking these summer camps to the next level. Their dedication and passion not only enhanced the campers' skills but also inspired the next generation of athletes and artists. The coaching staff and the entire community are incredibly proud of the Bandits for their commitment to giving back and helping young talents flourish.
