Resurrection is going DIGITAL for the 2023-24 School Year
June 30, 2023
Dear Resurrection parents,
I hope you are enjoying your summer! The 2023-24 school year is quickly approaching and your daughters will soon come together as a community. I am excited to announce the Resurrection is going digital! Beginning July 1, 2023, all parent communication will be digital. What does that mean? All communication from the administration and teachers will be digital including all forms and report cards. To achieve this exciting initiative, we will begin leveraging all of the features PowerSchool offers.
It is important you update Resurrection with your most current email address and cellphone number through PowerSchool. Current parents will continue to use the Powerschool account you were assigned in the 2022-23 school year. The link to access Resurrection’s PowerSchool account is listed below. https://resurrection.
The parents/guardians of incoming freshmen and transfer students will receive their login credentials at Parent Curriculum Night on August 31, 2023.
Below is an overview of important information and dates you should mark on your calendars including course schedule release, purchasing textbooks, athletic fall tryouts, and beginning of the year events.
ACADEMIC UPDATES
Student Course Schedules: Student schedules will be completed and emailed no later than July 20, 2023. Every effort was taken to place your daughter in the courses she selected or the alternates that were provided. We prioritize scheduling graduation requirements, leveled classes, electives listed on their registration form, and then what is available during open periods.
Purchasing Textbooks: We’re partnering with EdTech Solutions as the textbook distributor and the home for your daughter’s digital content for the 2023-2024 school year. In addition to providing one-stop textbook shopping, EdTech provides access to platform eBook credentials for digital materials purchased through EdTech's Shelfit platform.
All Resurrection students are required to use EdTech for the purchase of digital content. EdTech provides a number of benefits for our parents, students, and faculty, including but not limited to the following:
- One place for parents to buy all school books, both physical and digital.
- You will know exactly which books your daughter needs because they will automatically populate on their EdTech Shelfit Store.
- One point of contact for personalized customer service with quick response times. Parents and students will not have to reach out to different publishers for assistance with purchasing, accessing, or using digital content.
- EdTech charges a one-time fee of $12 per student using digital platforms for the implementation of those platforms, included in the student's Course Access Bundles (outlined in the Welcome Flyer).
- EdTech also hosts their own online Shelfit eReader, with features such as text-to-speech, a variety of font types including dyslexia font, flashcard creator, and annotation abilities.
Work is being completed with EdTech to set up the online bookstore and we currently expect the bookstore to go live on July 24, 2023. Additional information will be emailed informing families of when the bookstore has gone live. If you have a question about textbooks, please contact Mr. Joe Lascon at jlascon@reshs.org.
School Supplies: All students will need a Texas Instrument model TI 84 Plus graphing calculator for their math class. When your daughter meets her teachers in August, they will let her know of any special materials needed for their classes. Students are free to purchase notebooks, pens, markers, etc. of their choice.
PowerSchool: PowerSchool is our school information system that manages our attendance, grades, behavioral reports, report cards, and student transcripts. PowerSchool offers parents and students an easy to use online parent portal that gives convenient visibility into student academic performance, attendance, schedules, parent-teacher communication, registration, and school bulletins.
Please Note: Returning parents/guardians will use the same login information as last school year. Freshmen and transfer student parents/guardians will receive their login information at Curriculum Night.
