Student Services Team to Host a Ribbon Cutting and Meet and Greet
Resurrection College Prep is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony along with a meet and greet on Tuesday, August 27th, from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. Parents/guardians, students, faculty and staff are invited as we celebrate the grand opening of our new College and Career Center. This event is a fantastic opportunity for parents and students to meet our new student services team and learn about our exciting changes to support our students’ academic, college and career goals.
Dr. Elise Matson, Principal, Dr. Patricia Caine, Assistant Principal of Student Services and Ms. Claire Thiese, College Counselor look forward to sharing the exciting developments in our student services department with the Resurrection community. They will be hosting this event and providing insights into how our new team and resources will benefit our students.
We are proud to introduce our dedicated student services team, which includes two full-time counselors, Ms. Jessica Gabino (Swallow) and Ms. Kelli Pietrowski, a full-time college and career counselor, Ms. Claire Thiese. This dynamic team is here to provide personalized guidance and support to help our students succeed.

Join us for a Meet and Greet session to connect with our new student services team and discover the impactful changes we've implemented to help our students as they grow and develop their interests and career aspirations.
About Our College and Career Center:
The College and Career Center supports students in planning their educational and career futures. It will provide help with college searches, applications, and essay writing, as well as career exploration through assessments and internships. The Center will offer workshops on financial aid, scholarships, resume writing, and interviews, along with personalized counseling and test preparation for the SAT, ACT, and AP exams.
Equipped with an information library, parent resources, and technology, the Center ensures students and their families have the tools needed for success. With knowledgeable counselors and a comfortable environment, it helps students make informed decisions and prepares them for college and career opportunities.
Meet Our Team:
Ms. Claire Thiese, Full-Time College Counselor: Ms. Thiese joins us from Glenbard East High School, where she worked as an intern in the student services department. She focused on college guidance, helping students with resume writing, career research, college applications, and FAFSA applications. She holds a master's degree in School Counseling from Lewis University and is a licensed Professional Counselor.
Ms. Kelli Pietrowski, Full-Time School Counselor: Kelli holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of St. Francis and a Master’s in School Counseling from Concordia University Chicago. Her counseling philosophy centers on building trust and empathy to empower students. In her new role, Kelli is dedicated to supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and postsecondary development, fostering a safe and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and heard.
Ms. Jessica Swallow, Full-Time School Counselor: Returning for her second year at Resurrection College Prep, Ms. Swallow previously worked at Maine South High School as a substitute counselor and a special education internal substitute. She is thrilled to continue working with the students she has built connections with over the past year.
