Students take part in 3-D Printing/GlowForge Workshop led by upperclasswomen

Today, seniors, and AP Seminar/STREAM III students, Maggie DeFend and Colleen Chiavola showed fellow students how to use the Innovation Lab tools, such as the 3-D printers and the GlowForge laser cutter, in the second of hopefully many student-led workshops offered during P-Block. All students had the opportunity to sign-up to participate in this workshop.

The Innovation Lab is located in the RES Library, and is open to all students before and after school, as well as during the second half of P-Block. To use the Innovation Lab tools, students need to fill out a Google Form, which is located on the Schoology Library page.

Tools such as the 3-D printers and the GlowForge allow students to let their creativity flow, and to have a tangible product of that creativity as a result. The Innovation Lab promotes not only creativity, but also problem solving/troubleshooting, planning, and engineering concepts.

Aligned with the mission of Resurrection, the technology space aims to create an environment that develops ethical digital citizenship and cultivates 21st century literacies by seamlessly integrating the effective use of technology into the curriculum. Through skills and knowledge gained, upperclasswomen have the opportunity to become Tech Leaders, and as a resource to students within the Innovation Lab.
