Your Journey Begins Here: What to Expect at New Student Orientation

At Resurrection College Prep, we know that starting at a new school is more than just a milestone; it’s the beginning of a meaningful journey. That’s why New Student Orientation on Friday, August 15 is designed to help your daughter feel confident, connected, and ready to write her own story at RES.

Whether she’s entering as a freshman in the Class of 2029 or joining us as a transfer student, this day marks the first step in a new chapter, one filled with growth, friendship, and purpose. This year’s theme, “Your Journey Begins Here. Rooted in Faith. Inspired by Possibility.”, serves as a guidepost as she begins to navigate high school and discover her unique path forward.

For Freshman: Class of 2029
New Student Orientation is a full-day experience, running from 8:20 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students may arrive as early as 7:45 a.m. through the Main Entrance, where they’ll be welcomed by our staff and student ambassadors.

Throughout the day, your daughter will:

  • Connect with classmates and start forming friendships
  • Meet her teachers and school leaders
  • Walk through her class schedule and explore the campus
  • Receive her student ID, locker assignment, and practice using her locker
  • Meet her upperclasswoman mentor, someone who will help guide and support her as she begins her RES journey

For Transfer Students
Our Transfer Student Orientation runs from 8:20 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Students will gather in the Little Theatre, where school leaders, student ambassadors, and counselors will provide a welcoming space for them to get acclimated and feel supported.

Highlights of the program include:

  • Icebreaker activities designed to build connections
  • A full campus tour with time to walk through class schedules and access lockers
  • An introduction to Schoology and Chromebook use with our Librarian, Ms. Schneider
  • Time to meet other transfer students and enjoy lunch together
