Bandits Make History with Regional Title and Standout Season

The Resurrection College Prep varsity softball team made history this spring, capturing the 2025 IHSA Regional Championship with a thrilling 8–6 win over Grayslake Central. The victory capped off a memorable season that saw the Bandits finish 14–12 overall, highlighted by impressive wins, record-setting performances, and a team that never backed down from a challenge.

In the Regional title game, the Bandits came out swinging. Molly Reichenberger and Ellie Dorgan set the tone in the first inning, scoring on a sacrifice fly by Mia Gurdak and an RBI single by Jenna Skweres. Moments later, Ella Anderson launched a three-run home run to give Resurrection a commanding 5–0 lead. The offense didn’t let up—Maria Midiri drove in two more runs with a clutch single in the second inning, and Alaina Pilas added two key hits to keep the momentum going. On the mound, Ellie Dorgan delivered under pressure, earning the win and closing out the game with poise.

The Regional title was just one of many highlights during a season filled with growth and grit. The Bandits notched big wins against strong programs including Niles West, DePaul Prep, Palatine, Montini, Loyola, and Fenwick. On the pitching side, Kailey Janus threw a perfect game and Ellie Dorgan added a no-hitter to the team’s list of accomplishments. With a 4–8 record in the competitive GCAC conference, Resurrection proved they could hold their own and rise to the occasion when it mattered most.

The 2025 softball season was one for the books—filled with team chemistry, hard work, and a Regional trophy to show for it. Congratulations to our Bandits on a remarkable year!
