Resurrection College Prep Welcomes Adrian Kibiersza to Lead Bandit Flag Football

Resurrection College Prep is proud to announce Adrian Kibiersza as the new Head Varsity Flag Football Coach, bringing an experienced leader to a program that continues to build on an impressive foundation of success.

As the Bandits prepare for their fourth season of IHSA Flag Football, Resurrection sought a coach who would not only continue the program's competitive momentum but also embrace the school's mission of developing young women of faith, leadership, character, and excellence. Coach Kibiersza's commitment to mentoring student-athletes, building strong relationships, and fostering a positive team culture made him the ideal choice to lead the next chapter of Bandit Flag Football.

Since launching in 2023, Resurrection's Flag Football program has experienced tremendous growth. The Bandits qualified for the Illinois State Series in their inaugural season, advanced to the IHSA Regional Finals in both 2024 and 2025, added a Junior Varsity team in 2025, and have grown to more than 30 student-athletes. The program has also celebrated individual success, including Emily Verdon '27 earning All-State honors in 2024, while at least two members of the Class of 2026 are preparing to continue their flag football careers at the collegiate level.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Kibiersza to Resurrection and to the Bandit athletics family," said Athletic Director Carter McFarland. "His experience, energy, and knowledge of the game will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow our Flag Football program. We believe he is the right leader to guide our student-athletes into the next phase of the program's development."

Coach Kibiersza brings 15 years of coaching experience across football, wrestling, and track and field. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for program development, organization, communication, and creating meaningful relationships with student-athletes, families, coaches, and school communities.

Most recently, he served as an Assistant Varsity Football Coach at Saint Viator High School, where he played an integral role in developing a successful program and preparing student-athletes for success through collaboration, strategic planning, and player development.

He also brings a strong background in girls flag football from Maine South High School, where he currently teaches and previously served as an Assistant Varsity Girls Flag Football Coach. During his time with the program, he helped lead a team that finished ranked No. 3 in Illinois and No. 16 nationally according to MaxPreps. His coaching experience also includes serving as the defensive line coach on Maine South's 2016 IHSA Class 8A State Championship football staff. Throughout his career, Coach Kibiersza has mentored student-athletes at the highest levels, including several who have gone on to compete in the NFL.

While Coach Kibiersza's experience speaks for itself, what stood out most throughout the hiring process was his passion for developing student-athletes beyond the game. His leadership philosophy aligns closely with Resurrection's commitment to helping young women grow as confident leaders, dedicated teammates, and compassionate members of their communities.

"We were looking for a coach who values relationships, leadership, discipline, and the personal growth of every student-athlete. Coach Kibiersza embodies those qualities, and we are confident he will build upon the strong foundation of our Flag Football program while making a lasting impact on the lives of our students."

Coach Kibiersza is equally excited to join the Resurrection community.
