Resurrection College Prep High School seniors Michelle Netzel and Emma Gillespie have been awarded the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship by the Western Golf Association (WGA) Scholarship Committee.
Michelle Netzel will be attending Purdue University to study Actuarial Science. She has been a caddie at Park Ridge Country Club since 2016, is a four-year honor roll student, member of the Resurrection Orchesis, and the St. Patrick’s Dance team. Michelle said she is honored to be awarded the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship. “No words can truly show how appreciative I am of my parents, my country club, and Resurrection for all of the help to make this all possible.”
Emma Gillespie will be attending the University of Illinois as an Education major and is looking forward to going into a field where she can work with children or teenagers. She has been a caddie at Ridgemoor Country Club for the past four years. At Resurrection, Emma is a four-year honor roll student and a member of the Science National Honor Society and the National Honor Society, where she served as the Peer Tutoring Coordinator. She was also the President of the Resurrection DIY Club and a member of the Celtic Club and Sign Language Club. She said that Resurrection taught her “the importance of sisterhood and the power of education.”
