The Resurrection Flag Football team is on a roll! The Bandits earned an exciting 12–6 victory over New Trier in the Regional Semi-Finals, securing their spot in the Regional Championship game against Loyola on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at New Trier.
The Resurrection Flag Football team is on a roll! The Bandits earned an exciting 12–6 victory over New Trier in the Regional Semi-Finals, securing their spot in the Regional Championship game against Loyola on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at New Trier.
It was a full-team effort that showed determination, teamwork, and heart. The defense dominated, with Sarah Shewchuk leading the way with 3 sacks, and Morgan Schreiber adding 2 more. Lily O’Connor had an outstanding game with 15 flag pulls, while Emily Verdon grabbed 2 interceptions and Giovanna Lee added another.
On offense, the Bandits brought the energy with two big touchdown passes — a 30-yard connection from Emily Cook to Shannon Flannigan, and a 26-yard touchdown from Izzy Sanchez to Emma Byrne.
Every player contributed to the win, and the team’s hard work paid off in a thrilling finish. Congratulations to our Flag Football Bandits on their Regional Semi-Final victory — and good luck as they head into Thursday’s Regional Championship!
