President's Message

Dr. Piwowarski speaking at 100 Year Kick Off event

Welcome to Resurrection College Prep! Resurrection is a cherished, dynamic, and faith-filled community focused on the holistic formation of young women. Our school leaders, administrators, faculty, counselors, and staff educate the students entrusted to our care, while serving and ministering to them daily. As we celebrate our 100th year as an institution of Catholic educational excellence, I welcome our alumnae, parents, past parents, and community members to visit campus to learn more about our history and how an education focused upon the development of young women benefits our students.

Resurrection’s efforts to create a dynamic learning environment are richly rewarded by an always vibrant student body of emerging leaders, physicians, attorneys, accountants, scientists, mathematicians, linguists, philosophers, physicists, engineers, architects, writers, artists, musicians, theologians, thespians, educators, academicians, and athletes who enrich the school family. It is gratifying to watch as Resurrection classmates mentor, encourage, and bond with each other, often leading to lifelong friendships.

We currently have 475 young women enrolled representing over thirty local grammar schools in the Chicagoland area. This year, we will graduate our first cohort of four-year STREAM students, construct an additional STREAM lab, complete the redesign of our Mission and Ministry Center, and construct plans for a new innovation center to accommodate our growing student interests!

We continue to expand our fine arts program, introducing a ceramics course, as well continuing to offer theater classes, including theater stage makeup. Our Business Practicum Program gives our students an opportunity to network with alumnae and local businesses to explore various career paths before applying to college.

This will be the first year our young women will have the opportunity to participate in immersion trips and meet young Lasallians from other Lasallian schools across the United States and internationally. I am working with our Partners in Mission to develop a five-year strategic plan for Resurrection. Under their guidance and you, our stakeholders input, we will announce and begin implementing a new vision in April 2023.

I look forward to this school year and the celebration that is to come. The full calendar of events for the Centennial Celebration are listed under the Centennial section of our website. You can contact me at president@reshs.org.
