Student Services Mission & Beliefs
Our students' individual counselors provide academic, social and emotional support. The Student Services Department works closely with students, parents, and staff to foster each student's personal and academic growth. Counselors meet with students throughout the year in both individual and group and classroom settings in an effort to foster each student’s personal, academic and spiritual growth. Counselors are available to meet with students on an as-needed basis during seminar and by appointment throughout the day. Counselors meet with students individually and in group settings throughout the school year to ensure students' needs are being met.
In fidelity to our mission, the Student Services Department is dedicated to providing the young women of Resurrection the necessary academic, social, and emotional supports that will empower them in the development of their God-given talents. Each of the components of the division (general counseling, college advising, Practicum, and Rankin) share in the general formation of the student while providing experiences that are specific to the individual components.

College Counseling Overview
The department's role is to help educate, guide, and support our students with college planning. It is the students' role to research, decide where to apply, visit colleges, and complete applications. Our college counselor meets with students individually throughout seminars and during all class meetings to prepare students for the college application process and help them achieve their post-secondary goals.
The college counselor works in collaboration with the generalist counselors to help students create a post-secondary plan and find best fit colleges based on their interest and abilities. Beginning freshman year, the counseling department encourages students to take challenging courses, engage in extracurricular activities, community service, and take on leadership roles that will not only help with college admissions, but also help students better understand their future college and career goals.
While any student can make an appointment to speak with the college counselor about their post-secondary path, college advising begins more formally junior year. Upperclassmen are invited to attend Resurrection’s annual college fair, meet with college representatives that are in the building throughout the school week, and attend workshops and seminars that focus on exploring and understanding all parts of the college application process. By senior year, college counseling becomes more individualized, meeting one-on-one with the college counselor, completing college and scholarship applications, and making informed decisions regarding their post-secondary plan. The college counselor is a resource for students and parents, advocating for students and providing the most up-to-date information on the college application process.
