Celebrating the Class of 2020
Dear Members of the Class of 2020 -
Ever since that day in March when we closed our campus due to COVID-19, you, the members of the Class of 2020 and your families, have been the center of many of our efforts. Our desire to recognize your accomplishments, and the numerous sacrifices made by loved ones on your behalf, has driven us to search for ways to go beyond the many hurdles of this pandemic. We decided upon a virtual ceremony as a means to recognize our graduates in an uncertain future environment. Our hope remained, however, to be able to provide a special component to our virtual ceremony.
Our commencement ceremony serves many purposes, chief among them is your commissioning. We send you forth, into the world, to live the life God created for you. Our intention is, and always has been, to provide you an opportunity to be commissioned in a safe, responsible, and meaningful manner. We are grateful that Illinois is projected to enter stage 3 of the published reopening plan in June, which will allow for gatherings of 10 or less.
No-Contact Commencement Ceremony
Therefore, we are excited to invite each graduate and up to 4 members of her family who reside together, to travel to Resurrection College Prep High School, in one vehicle, on June 4, 2020. We will host a no-contact commencement ceremony on June 4, 2020, which allows each graduate to walk across the stage to be recognized individually. This event will be held between the hours of 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm, with a specific entry time provided to each student. Detailed information will follow in the coming week, including required precautions, safety measures and entry times. At this time, we need an RSVP from those members of the Class of 2020 who are interested in participating on or before May 25, 2020.
We appreciate all of your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we plan this event to recognize the amazing, resilient, and dynamic Class of 2020. To RSVP, please send an email by May 25, 2020, from the graduate’s Resurrection email account, to Mrs. Christina Marte ’03, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Virtual Graduation Ceremony
The Virtual Graduation Ceremony will be shared on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 6 pm and will incorporate many of the traditional elements of a Resurrection College Prep High School graduation, including student speeches, presentation of awards, recognizing alumnae heritage, and honoring each of our graduates. The ceremony will be pre-recorded and shared with all seniors and families and will be made available so that it can be viewed at any time.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dr. Piwowarski directly at email@example.com.
